The Friedrich Schiller University Jena does not require any test certificates, but recommends that students should know German on the B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for languages in order to follow the course instructions, fulfill course requirements and be able to communicate with lecturers, supervisors and peer students. For those attending courses, or conducting a research project, in English, knowledge of the English language at the B2/C1 level is required.
